How is it that a person can go away for only 2 days and return home to find about 2 weeks worth of mess strewn about the place?

I'm doing my utmost best today to focus on cleaning up around here.

However, I snapped one of the prongs off in an outlet on Friday, before I left, so don't have a vacuum cleaner for awhile.

This, alone, stops me in my cleaning tracks. How can a gal dust when her vacuum cleaner lies in ruin?

Oh, and we've had an ant invasion on the catfood again. While I was gone, the family found the food covered with crawling ants so all cat feeding has been relocated. The cats seemed to not be worried because they know that the food will come. It always comes.

There was barely no water seen on the getaway weekend because, duh? It's winter and the lakes are frozen over. The only open water was on top of the river currents nearby. What can I say? I'm an inside kind of a gal. I don't know about these lake things even though I'm surrounded by 10,000 of them.
