I got a call last night from my little brother telling me that I was officially not invited to my sister's for brunch as my sister was not having brunch afterall. It was merely a fabrication of my little sister-in-law's mind or something.

So everyone is doing their own thing (or they're having brunch behind our backs. note to self: drive-by on sunday. heh) and that's fine by me.

I went to the grocery store and picked up fixings for our own easter meal. I got a good-sized ham on sale and a good-looking quiche, also on sale. Made sure to pick up some whipping cream for the Lavendar Whipping Cream I want to put on top of either a Lavendar Torte or a pound cake.

That kitten, that Scooter, is going to be lucky to live through the weekend.

She doesn't like being quarantined in the living room. She doesn't like it one bit. And when she's alone, she let's us know that that's not okay with her by meow-howling again and again and again. She calmed down quickly last night but started all over again when the boys were done watching a movie in the basment, well after midnight. Once Thing 2 went in to sleep with her, she was fine. But now that he's out of the room, she's at it again.

Even though she's quartantined, I started the process of getting her and Yoda together. I brought Yoda in with me and sat on an ottoman. Yoda hissed and did that deep throat noise while Scooter looked scared and kept her distance.

I pet Yoda and talked calmly to her but never made her get closer and didn't allow Scooter any nearer (which wasn't hard because Scooter felt the hate). Yoda wasn't too pissed because shortly after that was over, she was my best friend in my studio.

Scooter will see the vet on Tuesday and if all is well, I'll start sharing her blankets with Yoda so Yoda can get more used to the scent. And then I'll let Scooter out of the room and quarantine Yoda to the basement if I have to. (The basement is huge and finished so it's not uncomfortable). My goal is to get total inclusion and have the cats sleep together in the basement like I used to do with Yoda and Oreo. As soon as possible.

I really was worrying about having a kitten all over again. About how our house is not geared for a kitten anymore. But I then decided to quit worrying about it because it's more than likely it'll all turn out fine. And if it doesn't, there's always a story to tell.
