That was fun.
We stood in line for an hour so my son could take his permit test only to find out that my son needed to have a little blue card that said he was enrolled in a behind the wheel course.
Yeah. We didn't have that. We'd never heard of that. Well, I'd never heard of that.
I blew up at the kid for having what he needed. He was amazed that I would think it was up to him. Like he had to be the one responsible for this! How dare I?!
I told him he needed to figure out how to get this blue card. And then I went ahead, on my own because look at where he gets us, and searched the internet for driving schools. Where I found out that once you take the 30 hours of classroom and sign up for behind the wheel, you get your blue card. It was at this same time that my son handed me a note from his high school, where he'd taken his 30 hours of classroom. This little note had an itemized list of things he'd need so I called the number on it and got some nice person at our community ed who talked me down off of mom-on-roof's roof. We'll go there tomorrow and pay to sign him up for behind the wheel class, at which time we'll get that blue card so we (I mean "he") can stand in line for another hour (while I go across the street for a coffee).
Damn kid had the damn note all the damn time. Dammit!
Lather Rinse and Repeat.
Now to get the other kid to the doctor.
Tell me again, how do you working parents handle this kind of stuff?
