April 03, 2007 Yep. Got ourselves a new kitty today. The Humane Society didn't have any kittens but it did have a variety of older kittens/younger cats in the not yet one year range. We didn't need a variety. The boys picked her out and there was no looking at any other cats when really, why waste their time. But we didn't just get ourselves a kitten. No we surely did not. We got ourselves a pet squirrel, too. ![]()
Now some of you might think this is a very small cage for a squirrel of that size. Downright inhumane. But hey, it's a squirrel. Who cares? Okay. We didn't really get ourselves a squirrel. This little bastard squeezed between the bars of the squirrel-proof bird feeder and made himself (or herself) right at home. Frickin' squirrels. Okay. Now before I show you the new kitty. I'll share the old kitties with you. ![]() Yoda and Oreo in the winter of 2005
And now, still nameless: ![]()
Isn't she cute? And, uh, doesn't she look like the cat we already have, except furrier? She's incredibly furry and affectionate and wow, when I wanted another nap buddy, I sure did get myself a nap buddy. The minute I hit the couch, she's on top of me, face to face. Very cute. We're keeping the cats, as requested by the humane society, quarantined from each other so as to avoid any possible illness spreading until the new kitty gets checked out at our vet's clinic. Yoda's been keeping her distance. Actually, she's been in hiding most of the day. Some of my family already came over to meet her. All of us petting her and talking to her wore the little thing right out. Now if we can just come up with a name that we'd all agree one... oy. I want to call her Chuck. Short for "Bus Stop Chuck". Don't ask because I'm not sure why. I think it has something to do with that Eels song "Bus Stop Boxer" and "Chuck" for the Name Game value. My sister-in-law said we could call her Charlotte and Chuck would be her nickname. I like that. But am being outvoted. I'll keep you posted. p.s. I don't need any name suggestions. It's an in-house decision. Run! Buy Cosmic's Book!
