I survived Thanksgiving, and all I got were really tight pants. We were in and out of Thor's parent's house in less than 24 hours. I really don't like sleeping anywhere else besides my house. Oh well. We lived.
We got to meet Thor's little sister's new boyfriend. He passed the Stress Test. Once the meal prayer was said I think I may have said something like "let the grilling begin". Thor jumped in and asked "What are your intentions with my sister?"
"I was only going to start with asking about his siblings" I said.
But this new boyfriend held his ground. He and little sister-in-law were pouring over the Black Friday flyers, picking out gifts they wanted from each other. You'd have thought they'd been dating alot longer than they have, they seemed so comfortable.
Her son (little cousin) was trying to be cool in front of his older cousins, Things 1 & 2. You just knew he wanted to hang with them but he's so shy. We dragged them all to Wally World after dinner and he warmed up a little bit. He spent the night with them so they eventually worked it out. There's a big age gap but he thinks they're cool and they think they're cool so it worked out for all of them.
You know, it's only a 2 1/2 hour road trip to the in-laws but the kids insist we stock up on beef jerky every time we go. I think the boys may have finally hit their tolerance level for beef jerky. God, I hope so. That stuff is expensive!
The car didn't stink too terribly. The kitty litter/baking soda worked. You only notice the smell now when you first get it. Thank god. It's a really nice vehicle. Drives smooth and the brakes, they work! I didn't know how bad those van brakes were until I was driving the new car. It's a wonder I've survived in that old beast I used to own.
Bubble Therapy with the kitty didn't go too well this evening. She fussed and got away, pulling the IV out as she fled. We caught her to finish the job but she really fought. Made me want to weep. I don't think she realizes that her life depends on smooth Bubble Therapies.
I put some decorations on outside the house tonight and got out the bins of Christmas decorations. Because the weather's so nice I think we'll head down to a tree farm to cut our own tree. Maybe tomorrow or Sunday. Freshly cut trees stay fresh for so much longer. Last year, because of the remodelling, we didn't have a tree at all.
I really owe you some updated mid-remodelling photos, don't I.
I will get those for you.
Soon.
