I've received a couple in inquiries about Oreo Kitty. She's doing really well now that she's got her appetite back. Whatever is in the appetite stimulant that was prescribed to her is amazing!
We're getting used to the Bubble Therapy. Well, we're getting used to the fact that I insert this huge needle under her skin and she fusses about it and when it's over we get a day off. With an occasional bit of whackiness thrown in whenever she wiggles her way out of our chokeholds and sends the saline flying. She seems to take it better now that I preheat her saline under a hot pad.
Good lord. I preheat the kitty's saline. I have truly gone mad.
Because I had a ridiculous amount of laundry to attend to yesterday, I put myself under house arrest and only ran out once, to the grocery store. Yeehaw! Otherwise I hung around here and separated and transferred and folded and sorted laundry while watching movies. I saw You, Me & Dupree (rating: eh) and Taladega Nights (rating: heh). Today I'll finally get around to seeing Pirates II. I know. I'm way behind. But I don't have laundry to do so I'll have to come up with some other excuse to sit in front of the t.v. I don't know why it is that I need an excuse to watch a movie during the day time. Must be that strong Minnesota Work Ethic I have.
That's funny. Me having a work ethic. Why just this morning Thor was talking to me about my future and when the children are gone and I no longer have them as an excuse to not work. Oh sure, I threw the old "I'll work full time when you start cleaning toilets around here" line at him. And that worked as it always does, but still, he's leaning toward me getting at least a part time job. Even though I already have a part time job.
"Part-Time-Part-Time Job" is how he refers to it so apparently I'll be finding something with more than 2 to 4 hours per week when the time comes.
Not that I hadn't already been thinking along those lines. Hell, when he retires is when I'll probably look for full-time work. Or two to three to maybe four part-time jobs. Hell if I'm going to sit around with him all day while he waits for me to make him a damn sandwich.
Love him. He needs to work on his sandwich-making skills though.
I'd like to find a little part-time office support job in a church. Nothing too demanding other than not swearing. I know. Me. In a church. But you see I have a history of working in a church. If you can call the on-campus joint ministry center a "church". That had to be one of the most fun jobs I ever had. Second only to my part-time-part-time job that I have now. I think it's the rebel in me. I have an attraction to hanging out with religious and clergy-types. I think I like to be challenging.
I also like real estate so wouldn't mind finding a part-time support position in a residential or commercial real estate office. I'm not talking apartment management. With this Meals on Wheels gig of mine I'm never, ever going to live in a place with long, dark hallways again. Or eat brussel sprouts.
Anyway, it's just the beginning of thinking about it. I've got a few years left before I actually have to do something about it. Until then, shut up Thor!
Note to Tracie: Hi Tracie! Welcome to Kitchen Logic! Thor is my blog-name for my husband. You know his real name.
Everyone: Say hi to Tracie! Tracie is one of the my best high school girlfriends that I let get away from me but have reconnected to and shared this URL with.
