Yes. It's a Mental Illness. That's what my husband has.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Pot
Let's not get ahead of the game though. I don't need to run out just yet and buy another washing machine. Let's not forget we bought the used, refurbished one that Maytag will be coming over to repair this afternoon.
I'm thinking about locking the repairman up in the basement so he can be at our disposal and we'll never have to worry about dead washers again.
It'll all depend on how cute he is. I'm finicky about the hostages I keep.
Take that guy who comes every year to look at my furnace. The guy who shops all the time at QVC and HSN. You don't see me locking him up in the basement, do you? There's enough crazy people in this house already.
Crazy people and Future Prison Inmates.
I had to pick Thing 1 up at the high school yesterday afternoon after he'd spent some time in detention for arriving late to class.
The class that starts right after lunch period. Homeboy has been taking advantage of the Open Campus for juniors and senious during lunch. Going off with his friends and coming back late all the damn time.
Apparently, all the kids are doing it because at 4:03 exactly, when the doors opened up, a tsunami of kids came flooding out of the building.
Open campus for high school lunch. How stupid is that? There's not any reward program attached to it either. I could see that you'd offer it to your kids who are doing well in school. But no, apparently they figure they have a hard time keeping the kids on campus anyway so, you know, why struggle?
Thankfully next year they'll be changing it to Seniors Only. For now we're going to have to figure out a way to get my kid back to class on time. I can't figure out how I can stop him from leaving campus unless I show up at lunchtime every day and cover every door. Which is impossible. And. I'm not going to do it. I do know that he's going to have to find his own way home from Detention from now on. With winter coming, perhaps that will be incentive enough.
Teenagers. They make my husband's mental illness look like a cake walk.
