Yesterday started off bad. The week's anniversary of taking in the kitty for a final goodbye. Good God. Just a cat. Hmmmph.

But, thankfully my friend Sandy was in town from Colorado so it was a day of shopping and eating, shopping and shopping, eating and drinking.

We even had time to watch the movie Chocolat. Last time I saw it was when it was in the theatres and I was in Colorado so caught it out there with Sandy and our friend Steff.

I love that movie. And the lenten season is the perfect time to watch it. All that Chocolat in a pious French village in 1959.

Also, it's always a good time for Johnny Depp.

Cripes. He's hot.

And there's chocolate.

And the pureness of Juliette Binoche's complexion.

I think I need to watch it again.

Yesterday, whilst shopping, I found the cutest little purse that should make me get over my latest anti-purse quandry. I've been wanting to get by without a purse for the past few months. Shoving everything into my pockets. And I'm not much of a fan of how a gal looks in a pair of pants with pockets full of cellphones, cash, cards, iPod, keys, reading glasses, etc.

But I had a gift card for Patina, my favorite little gift shop. And they happened to have this little purse with a decent-sized strap that allows me to tuck in the necessary gear, toss it onto my shoulder and go about my business without fussing over my handbag.

And to think, my purse shopping girlfriend called me to let me know that she was headed to New York tomorrow and I was welcome to come along to shop for more purses. I turned her down, being on this down phase of purses.

I know. I'm sorry. You all want me to haul my butt to New York for a day trip so you can take advantage of what I bought, but I just couldn't bring myself to go through it again.

Besides, the missing treadmill might be making appearance in my house on Monday. I can always go to New York for purses.

Sandy and I ended up meeting up with Steff last night for beverages. Good god, we laughed our butts off.

I need more of this and now that spring came in with the rain last night, I've got time and energy to do just that.

Join me?

p.s. Thank you all for your cat information. I agree with most of you. We need to bring in a kitten for Yoda. I'll be looking around soon. Just not today. I'm not ready yet.
