I got my nook started. Thanks to Art it's officially named: Fort Snickerdoodle. The entire house is now formally known as Camp Cookie and each room's going to have a fort name now.
Funny how these things take over.
I spent the night at Fort Snickerdoodle last night. I almost had a bunkmate because Thing 2 thinks it's the coolest place ever (pictures later) He wants it for his very own but I told him we'd make a fort for him this weekend. The kid's got a huge room so we're just going to have to nook out a corner for him. He says he wants a couch. I'll have to start checking out some garage sales before the season is over to see if I can find something for my fellow fort lover.
I think Thor's a little jealous that I have a place of my own. He mentioned that he thought it was a dumb idea. But Thor's not the only one dealing with his headaches. I'm exhausted from the sleep interruption and the stressing about them. Someone's gotta stay healthy around here and it's going to be me, Captain of Fort Snickerdoodle! You know, kind of like on an airplane where parents should be their oxygen on first before putting it on the kids? Heh. If I ain't healthy, no one's gonna be healthy! If I'm the only one healthy? Good luck to the rest of you, I'll be napping at the Fort!
Hey Lap? The recipe I use for my Snickerdoodles comes from the Betty Crocker recipe. They seem crispy enough to me. I don't like the big, doughy ones either. Great Harvest, who I usually love for cookies and bread, bakes those big doughy things. I'm not impressed. I like a snickerdoodle that's airy and meltable all at the same time.
I ended up making the Butter Cookies last night/this morning. I made the dough late last night while watching Project Runway (please? could we bring back Milan next time?!) then let them get cold overnight and baked them this morning. I am now making a feeble attempt to stay away from them. Thankfully I was smart enough to only make a little more than I needed to bring to the Frame Shop today so I'm limited in my cookie obsession this morning.
It's such a gorgeous day out today that I almost hate to go to work. But seeing as how I only have to work about two hours, I think I can muster up the strength and patience and deal with it.
The new bed gets delivered tomorrow so I have to clean our bedroom before strangers see it. We're going to give Thing 2 our old bed and have the delivery people take away his old bed. Sure wish I could get them to take that damn bigger than life desk off the porch while they're here.
Lap?! If you want that desk you better come over and get it before Thor puts it up on Craig's list! I can't imagine how you'll get it inside your door but if you come and get it, it's yours!
Well kids, time to head out for a Pumpkin Spice Latte!
