One of my best friends is having surgery this afternoon and I'm just waiting for the phone call to tell me that everything is alright.
I got an e-mail from another friend this afternoon. She had surgery on Monday and is recuperating (wireless in the hospitals - how cool is that?)
This must be the age for surgeries. I'm just glad I'm not at the age for funerals just yet.
I remember when my Grandma started talking about how all of her friends were dead or dying. But she was almost 90 so I have at least a few years before I get to that stage. Now it's the stage where friend's parent's are starting to die.
It's a bitch getting old. But it's a bigger bitch not having the opportunity.
Keep your fingers crossed that my friend's surgery went well. She shouldn't have to worry about a staf infection - we chlorinated our bodies at the spa yesterday.
I think I may be done with the Christmas shopping. Except for a few bits and pieces. Seriously, this is the most relaxing Christmas I had in years. I should have got myself blacklisted by the bookclub years ago!
