Thing 2 survived his first day at high school. About fifteen minutes after he got home, he was crashed on the couch while Sponge Bob was blaring on t.v. Ohhhhhh! High School and Sponge Bob. Made me want to cry at the loss of my little boy!
Just like the day he went to first grade when I came across Arthur on PBS. Made me miss the year before when we'd watch Arthur and then head out for the afternoon kindergarten bus when it was done.
I'm not liking this part where I lose my little boys altogether!
They both came home with a list of supplies they need for school. The thing about high school is that you don't usually get your supply list until you've been to your classes. Which is understandable because there are so many variables in high school supply lists what with the amount of classes offered. But you'd think that the office supply stores would know this and stock up on their inventory of Single-Subject College-Ruled Spiral Notebooks! Variables Schmariables. Every high school kid needs a bunch of those. I went to Office Depot - Not a one. Unless I was willing to spring $6.99 for the extra special hardcovered versions. Don't think so. Office Max had 4 left so I scooped those puppies up. Hoping no mom woudl beat me over the head and take them from me. Makes me want to order a pallet full for next year and sell them out of the back of my van in the office supply store parking lot.
Note to self: Buy a bunch of those at Target when they're on sale next year. Dope! Kids always need those!
On the Health Watch 2006, I've decided to go with the Tough Love approach to his stomach issues. It's not like I'm not sympathetic because I am but the kid NEEDS to make better food choices so that every organ is working at it's best.
Thor's got an appointment with a neurologist at the end of this week. We need to put a stop to these damn headaches that keep him out of commission.
Thing 1 says his ingrown toenail is fine. But that's because he's on an antibiotic. We'll see how it goes once that's over with. If it's gets bad again: Permanent Toenail Removal to the ingrown portion of his toenail. Dumb nail-biting kid!
He wants to quit his job. His schedule doesn't seem to be too interruptive with school but I don't like the fact that theatres are open 365 days a year and that means he'll probably be working on Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I'm doing my best to send him telepathic messages to apply at places that are closed on holidays.
Food for Folks ticked me off yesterday. Mom was her regular self. 'Nuff said about that subject. But the person in charge of my route neglected to tell me, for the second or is it third time, that one of my regulars wasn't home and I didn't need to drive out of my way, park my car, take out a meal, wait in the hot apartment vestibule to not get in while waiting for her to answer and buzz me in, which she never would because she wasn't home that day. Of course, some other tenant let me into the building so I didn't really realize this until I'd gone to her third floor apartment and knocked or awhile. I figured she was dead on the door's threshold while trying to get to the door to buzz me in.
C'mon, people. They obviously knew it was a cancellation at the home base because I had one less meal than I normally do. I'm giving them warning next week. This happens again and I'm done.
Hmmmm. I'm beginning to think I should just be done with it anyway. I'm tired of spending Tuesdays listening to my mom repeat herself and ignore what I have to say. Hell, I was a regular moody beeyotch the entire time we were together yesterday. This can't be any more fun for her than it is for me.
No plans for today. I have decided to just have some fun. Let my hair down. Do whatever I want to do today. I'm almost tempted to take a drive to Red Wing for some Fiestaware! Oooh! I'm liking that idea! Wait! The Fun Sisters purse store is open this weekend (their weekends start on Wed) Lord knows I definitely NEED another purse!!! Okay. Maybe not. So now my goal for today is to NOT go to the Fun Sisters.
