I am currently between medical appointments. Thing 2's is up next. He came home from school on Friday with a sore throat and a fever, which he pretty much had all weekend long. The fever finally broke some time yesterday but the sore throat remains "only when I swallow" he said.
The kitty appointment was this morning. I was getting educated on the bubble therapy that I'll now be performing three times a week in a bathroom upstairs!
Doesn't that sound entertaining?!
Hell. From the looks of it, I'm going to need at least two more sets of hands to get the art of Bubble Therapy done. But that's after I've got the saline bag hanging, the line open expect for the roller thingy and the new needle in place. The needle, by the way, is huge. Size 10. Not like those teeny tiny diabetic needles. No. This one is so you can get that saline into kitty quick-like. So I'll be dealing with the line and the needle at the same time I need to keep the kitty calm and in place, oh and make sure that part of the line stays loose so the needle doesn't pull out. But then I need to keep the other part of the line flowing. And then if it's not flowing, I need to check the roller thingy, the needle angle and the angle of the kitty.
I hope I didn't offend the poor lab tech with the amount of "shit"s I threw out while in training.
I did not sign up for this part of pet having. I just signed up the food and the water and the scooping and the hunting them down so I could haul them into the vet's office once a year.
We'll see how this goes.
One of the checks on the Con List of it all is that the new kidney diet food is making them both barf up liquid orange spots all over the damn house, including the very expensive living room couch. I'm thinking I'll just do more of the regular food mixed in with the kidney diet. This way, only one of them might die. Right now they're both on the waiting list.
Thankfully this Bubble Therapy is a whole lot cheaper than I thought. $22 for 20 days worth of saline, needles and rental/disposal of the bio hazard container now on the premises.
No word on the new vehicle yet. I just tried to call Thor but had to hang up on him when I swallowed the wrong way and started coughing my fool head off. Why the hell I swallowed wrong when I wasn't even eating is a mystery to me. It's not the first time this has happened. Jeezus. What a spaz.
Time to drag a boy into a shower before he sees the doctor.
