I have these neon pink reading glasses. I have alot of reading glasses. But right now, my favorites are my neon pink ones. Cheap little things that I picked up at a gift shop. This is what I look at when I go shopping in gift shops with girlfriends. They look at the cute little clothing that doesn't fit me while I look at the reading glasses.
Today I was wearing them while looking for ways to spend the gift certificate my sister in law sent to me for Borders Books. 50 bucks free book shopping. Isn't that awesome?
So I'm looking at everything when a cute male store clerk walks by. He stops in his tracks and says "I love those glasses!"
I just wanted to hug him because he really made the shopping spree even more fun.
It does a middle-aged woman's heart good when a young, cute, albeit gay, man takes notice.
Speaking of middle age. While watching Project Runway with Thor the other night, I commented that I would like to be the mom that Milan never had. Support him in all his gay glory.
And it occurred to me. I am apparently at ease with my age and willing to be the mom of a man in a suit. Not too long ago I'd wish for someone Milan's age to be my brother or boyfriend.
Thor and I also watched that million dollar house show after Project Runway. I just couldn't focus on the houses because I was too busy trying to figure out what plastic surgery had been done to the female realtors. I wanted to take a magic marker to the t.v. and circle their eyes and cheeks and lips and lack of facial expressions.
I am so very happy that I live in the midwest where we might be frumpy, but at least it's not a bitch to keep up with.
Next Friday I will be dying my hair back to the brown that it is. Ever since I started having it highlighted, I have no idea how much gray I have. And I want to know how much gray I have. I've earned it. Let me see it.
And then when I've got that behind me, I'll start highlighting again.
I just want to know.
I spilled no Pumpkin Spice Latte on the front of my shirt today. No Chinese food on my lap at dinner. Something is not right with the world.
