Well, will you look at me? I just got done eating a healthy lunch after going to the gym! Ain't I just the model of Something Special?!
Ain't I?
Well, tomorrow I throw that out the window. Tomorrow starts my most hated month of the year. February.
It's cold. It's dark. It's my birthday on the 13th. I hate having a birthday in such a cold and dark month where just about everyone I know is suffering from a touch of Seasonal Affective Disorder or a regular virus or the virus I have called "Unwillingness to Go Out And Have Fun when it's this Damn Cold Out" virus.
I only go out in the evenings of February if I have to. If I have to go to one of Thing 1's basketball games. Which pretty much sums it up. Everything else I'll schedule during the day. Michael Keaton could call me from The Maul on a Wednesday night and say "Hey Kath! It's me, your future fiance! How about hanging at the maul with me?"
And I'd be like "Nah, Michael. It's too cold to go out at night. Call me in March!"
Then I'd hang up and Ben Folds would call and say "Hey Kath! It's me, Ben Folds! Come on down to First Avenue and sit on the piano bench with me tonight!"
And I'd be like "Somebody call me a cab! I'm going to sit with Ben Folds on the piano bench at First Avenue!"
I'm not stupid. I just don't like going to the maul all that much.
So tomorrow. February begins. I've decided that this year I'm going to turn it into a month that I love.
First assignment: A Chocolate a Day.
I bought myself a heart-shaped tin of Bailey's chocolates and I'm going to figure out what part of the day I need a chocolate the most and then I'm going to have just one.
Really. Just one. I'm going to the gym. I'm not letting all that hard work go downhill.
How many minutes does it take to work off a truffle? Anyone know?
Another thing I just started was Blockbuster Online. I'm so excited (don't be bursting my bubble with your tales of woe with the blockbuster online). I started early. I got my first movie yesterday: The Last Picture Show. I think that's an appropriate way to begin my February Movie Fest. I started watching it this morning while folding laundry. Dang, Jeff Bridges is cute! But Randy Quaid? I don't think so.
So. I've got chocolate and I've got movies to help me get through February. Us seestors/seestors-in-law are trying to figure out a time to head down to my seestor's cabin for a little more chocolate and movies. I've got birthday plans with Buzz & Sting. I've already pulled out Grandma's heart shaped cake pans for the Red Velvet cake I plan to make for myself.
I'm going to direct Thor to the Christopher Elbow website for Valentine's Day ideas.
I see only good things for February. Join me!
