I worked my ass off yesterday. Cutting up boxes took me two hours. Then I whipped up a loaf of banana bread and some other putzing around.
I sat down to rest and remembered that I really should get back to removing the wallpaper paste on the first floor hallway that I started last fall but had to stop because I injured my wrist using the spray bottle of Dif.
Seriously. Pulled something that throbbed for months.
Thankfully, my genius pal Sandy told me I should use a roller to apply the stuff so that's what I did.
People. It was mid afternoon when I started removing wallpaper paste. I only worked for an hour but hey, it was mid afternoon and I wasn't in need of a nap.
Will the wonders of pharmaceuticals never cease?
And to think, I'm only working on half a dosage. By this time next week, I should be up and painting the exterior of the house even if the exterior of the house is aluminum siding!
I've got forever to go on the removing the wallpaper paste. But I was smart enough to hit the little hardware store two doors down from the frame shop, who is having a Going Out of Business Sale, and grabbed a bunch of rollers and tray liners at a fraction of the cost so that I can work as long or as little as I like and then just throw away the messy stuff and start all over when I feel like starting over.
No muss. No fuss. This is the kind of redecorating I like. One step at a time.
Thor, Thing 1 and I sat down to watch a couple of movies last night. Children of Men and For Your Consideration. Children of Men was great. And creepy. I don't think Thing 1 got For Your Consideration. Maybe it was Christopher Guest in his Art Garfunkel hairdo? I thought it was hysterical.
The winds are blowing like crazy today. The Bumpuses had a tree that snapped some time last night. Thankfully it landed in their yard because the last thing we want to do is talk to our Garbage Collecting neighbors. Who, by the way, have allowed their schizophrenic son to move back home. He spends the night in the garage going through stuff, shuffling stuff, and clanking stuff around. I kid you not. He starts about 11 p.m. and works until well after 5 a.m. I know this because of the clanking. I guess it's improvement from him trying to set the house on fire again.
Funny thing, I haven't seen hide nor hair of anyone else in the family. Well, if that garbage is going to start stinking, a decaying body should speed that up.
I sure wish Andrew would quit playing his little game of Money Extortion. Diaryland is getting awfully lonely around here without my freeloading buddies updating.
I'm setting up a new shop at either K Lo at Wordpress or K Lo Blogspot. So when diaryland is just *poof* one day, bookmark me and you can find me at one or the other.
I'd like to stay around here as long as I can just so someone can be here to turn off the lights.
