So, what do you think of the new layout? I'm tired of the boomerangs. They had to go. I'll be doing a change at kitsch in art, too. Just don't know what or when.
Easter breakfast is behind us. The store-bought quiche was a hit. Even Thing 1 ate some! Maybe there is a god!
Now the ham is roasting and I have to figure out what else to serve with it. Nobody in this house cares about side dishes except for me and I'm more than happy to toss a bag of frozen veggies into the microwave for a good steaming (thank you Birdseye and your steamfresh vegetables!)
The boys will want rice. Thor might eat some veggies if I pretend they're a plane wanting to land in his mouth.
Lord, it's not easy being the mother of three boys. Especially when one of them is in his mid-40's.
I'd tossed the boy's easter baskets out a couple of years ago. They were cheap and crappy and had fallen apart. I can't remember what I used last yet. Maybe ice cream buckets? Hmmm. Just can't remember. This year I used gift bags.
Note to self: Buy nice Easter baskets. And not the week before Easter like this year. There are none available unless you want to pay ridiculous prices for something that sits outside of a storage bin for a couple of days a year.
They got a little bit of candy plus a CD and a Best Buy gift certificate. Thing 1 got a few cans of his favorite energy drink (ick!) and Thing 2 got his favorite terriyaki beef steak nuggets (also - ick!)
We're just laying low today. Seeing as how we were uninvited to a place we weren't invited to in the first place.

Yesterday afternoon while I was making a pound cake (but no lavendar whipping cream for it because, duh, you have to read recipes ahead of time to know that the lavendar is supposed to sit in the cream overnight and then be strained out) the phone rang. One of my nieces was at the bead shop and had some questions about a girlfriend's wedding jewelry. They picked up a stone sample of what she wants and brought it over to see if I could find something a little bit different for a really good price.
We ended up spending time designing not only her bridesmaids' jewelry but her own jewelry. I love designing wedding jewelry! I've got a gem show coming up to attend at the end of the month so I can go get a great deal on the stones.
It was also nice to spend time with both of my nieces and their friend, who's been such a part of their lives for so long, she might as well be another niece of mine.

BoXx had commented in response to my recent entry about who I am that I should finish getting my degree. And you know? Maybe one day.
When I was in college (for 4 1/2 years - hey! I dropped alot of classes, so sue me!) I ended up changing my mind so many times about what my major would be that I couldn't decide and ended up with a "General Education" major path. Which means, not much.
If I do go back, I'll probably finish up a Sociology/Psychology double major. That's what most of my classes were in.
Or maybe I'll major in Art. Or whatever Home Economics is called now.
Or back into commercial real estate.
Thor wants me to be an Auto Mechanic.
You see what happens? There I go again!
I just really don't need a degree. I only went to school to get out of my parent's house. I pretty much reached my goal the first day of school.
