Ahhh, sitting here at my new computer, listening to Teddy Pendergrass on my iTunes while my brand new pink razor phone charges up. The cat is full of saline and she barely complained at all, heck even purred.
Hardly a complaint in the world.
Except:
As is typical in this house o'mine, the husband decided to install my old car stereo into my new vehicle some time around 1:30 this afternoon. Knowing we'd be leaving for a New Year's Eve party some time around 4:00 or a little bit later.
It is now 3:32 and my husband has taken his own car to run to Best Buy to buy the necessary wires for the stereo, leaving me with a new car that is unplugged from whatever it was plugged into that made it work in the first place.
He claims he'll be back in half an hour or so. I claim it'll be an hour. And then he will want to fuss with my vehicle so that he can get it working again so we can take it instead of his car, seeing as how my car rides higher and my brakes work better and finally, oh man, finally, it's snowing here!
I just need to keep my mouth shut and ride out The Ride of Procrastination because if I point out to him that he probably should have either started this task earlier or waited until tomorrow, I will be the target of his stress. And then, won't we be the most fun of party guests once we finally do arrive?
Hi, my name is Virginia Wolf, how do you like me now?
Ah. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf". What a movie. The first time I ever saw it was in a decades- maybe centuries-old movie theatre in Paris, France. Cigarette-smoke filled theatre, french subtitles. It was awesome. And what a perfect setting! Just what I hope the French think of us. Drinking and yelling and cavorting with other married couples.
We also saw "Lolita" on that trip. Which is a pretty frickin' awesome way to see James Mason and Shelley Winters being lecherous.
Now see, wasn't that a little nice escape from the procrastination saga in my house?
I'm thinking, if I were to act like Virginia Wolf at tonight's party, that would also be frickin' awesome! Time to break out the martinis!
Happy New Year to my diary reading friends!
