I figure I better write this entry before my aging mind leaves out the details.
I just got back from meeting Carrie and her husband and son. They're in town from way over in Michigan for tomorrow's Vikings/Lions game. Well, The Husband is in town for the Vikings/Lions game. Carrie and The Son are in town for the Maul.
I scooped them up and gave them a tour of Minneapolis and it's lakes. Because nothing is more fun after you've driven for two days than getting into a car again. The Son was very polite and didn't fuss even once. Note to self: Ask Carrie for better tips on parenting because, obviously, she's got it figured out.
I took them downtown where we dropped off The Husband so that he could catch up with his Drinking Football Buddies. His reason for being here in the first place.
I do believe that The Husband is now my favorite Internet Husband I've met so far. Probably has something to do with his line to Carrie about me reminding him of and old friend, before she let herself go.
Poor old friend. If I'm what she looked like before she let herself go, what kind of monster is she now?
I don't think I've ever been someones "Before" before. Made my day. And like I said before, The Husband is now my favorite Internet Husband. So far. His reign depends on any future Internet Husbands I meet and how complimentary they are to me. I can be bought.
Carrie made a funny observation as we were driving around the City Lakes. She thought everyone looked so thin. Which was true, if you're only looking at the people who are out at the City Lakes, walking and jogging and windsurfing. I let her know that the Real Minnesotans would be out in full force to greet her in the Maul. Where they will form walls of sloth that she and The Son won't be able to get under, around or through.
I want Carrie to come back so we can hang with akk and lap. Egads, we'd talk and talk and talk and it would seem that we've been 3D girlfriends forEver!
It was nice meeting you Carrie. Please come back! I'm hoping The Husband makes it back to the hotel before you have to head back east. Relatively hangover-free.
I'm just so happy that our City had it's best behavior turned on for the Caribou Clan. I better pay my City Behavior Bill so that the next time out of town internet friends show up, we'll get the same gorgeous day.
