The new surprise boxes were delivered safely by UPS and wait in the hallway. Apparently seeing as how I'm the one to move anything around this house, that's where they may be sitting until I wrap them.
Which I refuse to do. Dang it! I don't care if I already know what they are - somebody better wrap them for me!
So here we are, December 21st. Waiting for winter to arrive at 6:22 Minneapolis time, and it's raining. It's pouring.
Which means that if this doesn't stop, once it hits freezing later on today, it's going to freeze onto everything thus causing lots of snapped trees and downed power lines.
We're all going to die up here in the frozen icicle tundra.
It was nice knowing me, wasn't it?
I talked with my Colorado friend Sandy yesterday after I'd heard about the snowfall in her neighborhood. She sent me photos and holy crap, has she got alot of shoveling to do. And it was still snowing! I don't think she and her husband will be going anywhere for Christmas this weekend, like they'd planned.
Wow.
Winter is a bitch.
I dropped off a leetle package for my friend Buzz just now. Some of those Christopher Elbow chocolates I'm always talking about. I don't think I encouraged her but somehow I managed to get her to open them up to take a look at how pretty they are. And, of course, once you see how pretty they are, you just have to taste them. And being that she's a very not-greedy friend she shared some with me and her daughter, who just wouldn't go away no matter how many stink eyes I sent her way.
That Christopher Elbow is a genius. Seriously, I'd pay big money for those Rosemary Caramels.
I NEED to spend this afternoon wrapping presents so I can make sure I have enough for everyone. Of course, now that I'm getting a computer AND a 20" flat screen monitor, it's going to look like what I have for Thor is not enough. But damn, I refuse to run out and match his generosity! Even though he wouldn't want me to. But still, I'm going to feel guilty with what he's getting. Especially seeing as how most of what he's getting he ordered for himself.
Hey. I got him some surprise sweaters. Don't worry about me ruining the surprise because I'm mentioning them here. He doesn't read Kitchen Logic. And UPS doesn't even know about them so the secret is safe with just us.
I better get off my keister and get some stuff wrapped and figure out just what I need to run around for before the family arrives on Sunday at noon. Unless we're all dead from the weather.
