One of you commented about the Bonding that's been going on around here with me and Scooter, the new kitty.

We have definitely bonded. She wouldn't let me not bond. She stalks me and insists that we be friends. She wants to share just about every waking moment with me when we're alone in the house. And when the boys come home from school, she wants nothing better than to play fetch with them and act like a kitten.

And especially now that she's no longer sneezing boogers on me every time I pick her up. She's a keeper.

No new mice today.

A couple of you mentioned city laws and the neighbor's garbage breaking them. Which is absolutely how our city works. But in order for them to enforce such laws, they have to know about what's going on. Which means that in our neighborhood and the way it's set up and the way some of the other neighbors are, it'd have to be a call from me.

And I'm not ready to call just yet. I've got the number I need to call when I'm ready but I just can't give up hope that they'll take care of it before the stench drifts my way. The second I smell it is the second I'm dialing the city.

But there's so much mental illness in that house. The husband is an abusive bully. I'm not sure if he hits her but he does alot of screaming and intimidation.

Funny thing about his bullying ways. He tried to pull that crap on me once. I'd called the city on one of their many loose dogs. He figured out it was me and came over here to scream in my face. About two words into it, I puffed up my plumage and stood my ground and he went scampering off, to avoid me from then on.

She's got a major eating disorder. I'd have to guess that she weighs a whopping 75 pounds, at about 5'2". She smokes like a chimney, and being a former airline flight attendant, the leatheriness of her skin tells me she had alot of sunshiney destinations.

I don't speak with her either. Except for when she drives into the fence and is willing to admit to it.

So it surprised me last summer when we both accidentally were at near points in our lawns at the same time. I asked her how she was and she opened the floodgates from the Insanity Zoo that's next door...her son has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and has tried to set their house on fire three times, her daughter will no longer allow her to watch her grandaughter as long as he stays in the house, so she was kicking him out (or rather, having his father kick him out) that very day. And on and on and on.

Odd conversation for someone you hate with such a hate that you feel the need to drive into their fence.

These are the same neighbors that WE'VE received collection calls for. 1-800 numbers on the caller ID with people asking us to walk messages over to the neighbors, which I never did. And then when I got savvy and told them I'd walk their message over for a $500 fee they never called back.

So, the house went on the market. And sat and sat and sat. Our friend and neighbor went over to take a look at it, thinking he'd flip it. Noting the garbarge piled high in the garage, the punched in walls and doors, the smell and the filth in general, and decided it was too big a job. As apparently do many others feel because the house didn't sell

what I can't figure out is why the daughter, who is also the listing realtor, didn't insist they clean the place up.

So. Yeah. That was a long answer that kind of went off but just so you know, our city will enforce any laws broken about the filth but it's going to take me, apparently, to make the reporting phone call. Which I intend to do pretty soon.

Okay. I gotta run.

But before I go, big news:

I'm wearing hair product today.

Gel.

Wow!
