Well well well. A bright and sunshiney Saturday. No snow to hunker down for. What to do. What to do.

Road Trip!

I called Buzz, who was feeling mighty fine yesterday, and invited her to go for a little drive. A road trip to the pottery place for a Fiestaware fix.

"I need a couple of plates" I said.

"Need?" she asked.

"Need!" I answered.

And Buzz, who'd been having a terrible week of bad chemo stomach, was feeling fine and ready to go outside.

It was a gorgeous day. Ultra bright with the sun reflecting off the snow.

I don't know where everybody else was because no one was at the pottery place and we had it all to ourselves.

What I like about the store, besides the motherlode of fiestaware, is the candy shop at the end of it. They have baskets full of hard candies where you can buy it by the pound. Buzz and I were like little kids. Little kids with money. Because when you were a little kid, you could never just grab a basket and load it up with whatever you wanted.

I purchased the plates that I Needed! and we went off for a driving tour of Red Wing. Huge hills full of old houses facing the Mississippi River, it's a gorgeous town.

We took the back roads home. Up and down hills that had a lot of snow blowing across them. But it wasn't too bad and it was just a gorgeous drive.

Uh. I just couldn't figure out a way to wrap such a pretty day with a good friend up. I think the hard candy has petrified my brain.

I think we'll be working on the taxes today. Brace yourselves. You might be able to hear the yelling and swearing all the way to your house.
