Poor little Scooter. No wonder she wasn't coming out to greet us. She had a kitty temp of 107.1. Which equals to us having a 103 temp. High grade.

So now she's on antibiotics and got some bubble therapy at the clinic. At least I didn't have to administer it.

I got a couple of day's worth of antibiotics from the Vet but have to run back up to the frickin' Humane Society for the rest of them. At their expense. Sure wish they'd reimburse me for the mileage in order to make the sick kitty they sold me healthy again.

If she gets lethargic and stops taking water and food, I have to get her up to the Humane Society for hospitalization.

Chances are that Yoda won't get this because we kept them apart. Thank god! But if she does, she's got a mature enough immune system that should help her shake it off. fingers crossed.

We discussed the how-to's of getting the cats together, once the little one is not sick. And it includes a heckuvalot more than just opening the door. There's some eating at the doorway, with the closed door between them. To putting one in a cat carrier while the other gets used to eating next to it. To putting the other on in the cat carrier. And if Yoda's still hissing, there's a kitty pheremone glade plug-in kind of thing we can use. It's a science, people. A science!

Maybe I should become a Cat Whisperer. Although that would mean I'd have to be good at what I'm doing. And with what little I know about introducing new cats into a house, I pretty much suck.

I'm still leaning toward just letting the kitty out to see what happens. But that's just mean so I'll try the other stuff first. Once Scooter is okay. Until then, I get to shove medicine down her throat. I'll pick up the liquid form tomorrow but until then, it's crushed pills in the canned food.
