March 02, 2007 Two words that made our house very happy today: Snow Day Finally, the Closed Schools scrawling across the t.v. included our district. We rarely close schools in the metro area. I think the last time was almost 10 years ago when they were closed due to the frigid temperatures. It snowed all day yesterday and all night last night. It's so dang gorgeous. And if I could offer you the smell of the fresh, crisp snow over the internet, I would. It's the most wonderful smell. Thor got home last night and got stuck in the driveway. He went to snowblow the driveway when the snowblower quit working. Again. He called his friend down the street, who said he'd walk over his big honking blower. He also called the neighbor right across the street, thinking it would be easier to bring a snowblower less distance. When he called back the first guy, he was already working on our driveway. Boys and their toys. They got our snowblower working, too, so Thor was out there this morning, blowing the overnight snow. The roads are totally driveable so we really could have had school today but, eh, whatever. This is much more fun. I kept looking out the window last night. I'd wake up and take a peek out the window. Happy to see the snow still falling. It could have stopped any time because the Snow Day had been declared relatively early in the evening. But I just love how gorgeous it is when it falls so was happy to see it coming down. I popped wide awake a 3 in the morning when it dawned on me that I'd forgotten to mail the car payment yesterday. Wide awake. I headed downstairs to find the dang bill. Of course, I can't just pull an envelope out of a pile of papers. I decided that 3 in the morning was the perfect time to sort the recyclables from the filing from the shredding from the reading from the garbage. I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep until all items were in their proper places. Note to self: Tylenol PM The interstate between southern Minnesota and Iowa is closed today. I'm feeling claustrophobic. What if I needed to get to Iowa today?! My God! I can't go to Iowa!!!!!! Run! Buy Cosmic's Book!
